Thank you for inquiring about the MN Outdoor Youth Expo. If you are interested in preserving our natural resources, teaching today's youth and supporting the many organizations that keep our outdoor heritage and traditions alive….then you will be interested in the MN Outdoor Youth Expo.

“This expo’s goal is to help young people develop a lifelong passion for the outdoors,” said Wild Wings Sponsor Jeff Hughes. “Doing this has become more important as an increasing number of children have become used to the instant gratification of our electronic world. They are now growing up spending little time outdoors,” he said. “That’s why bringing these organizations together at the Youth expo is so important. These experiences offer a foundation for a lifetime of rewarding recreation and awareness of nature.”

The Outdoor Youth Expo, organized and sponsored by Wild Wings of Oneka, offers youth and families the opportunity to get outside and meet outdoor organizations, experts and educators. Educational seminars and demonstrations are scheduled throughout the event.

This expo is unique and there has not been another like it. We have expanded the typical “Outdoor Expo” focus to included areas such as outdoor sports & agriculture. We have tailored the event to families by making it affordable, educational and fun for all. We believe family participation is the key to getting kids involved. Parents today have the challenge of managing busy schedules. Finding local resources is not always easy. The Expo provides a place where organizations and families can connect. Each of our exhibitors will have an activity, “hands on learning” and also offer future opportunities for kids to be involved in after the event (example: summer camp).

We are excited to have over 60 exhibitors join us for the event this year to include the MN DNR, John Glen Cadet Archery, Kicking Bear Camp, YMCA Camps, 4H, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Bunker Park Stables, Walton’s Hollow Petting Zoo, Benson Airport’s Young Eagles, Wildlife Science Center, Pheasants Forever, MN Duck & Goose Callers Association, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Wood Duck Society, On-line Retrievers, Wings North, CR Trail Users Association, Gander Mountain, Wild Mountain, the MN Wild, the MN Timber Wolves, the MN Swarm, just to name a few. Our Goal:

The goal of the MN Outdoor Youth Expo is to provide this place where youth and families can:

see, hear, touch and feel a diverse collection of outdoor activities, from sports to agricultural
attend together and have fun finding new interests, resources and organizations that bring them back to outdoor recreational activities.
be educated about the many outdoor traditions,
get excited about, appreciate and respect nature,
leave with many options to choose from to participate in after the expo is over (ex: summer camps, organizations to join, future events).

About your Hosts Wild Wings of Oneka:

Wild Wings of Oneka is a private hunting and sporting clays club located less than 30 minutes from the Twin Cities in Hugo, MN. Our property is made up of 540 acres of beautiful rolling hills and trees. We have large open spaces that can host hundreds of visitors and exhibitor's activities in a natural landscape. How to get involved:

SPONSOR: The MN Outdoor Youth Expo is a not for profit event. To be clear, this is not a “fund raising” event. Your sponsorship dollars or donations will be used exclusively used to fund this annual event and support the many non-profit organizations that will be here to exhibit. However, any remaining funds after expenses will be distributed to other non-profit organizations that are in alignment with MN Outdoor Youth Expo’s goals. The Youth Expo is also giving various Youth Organizations the opportunity to raise funds for their organization at the event.

EXHIBIT: We are looking for exhibitors, retailers and organizations that are in alignment with our goals. Please see the Prospectus and Exhibitor Application for more information on opportunities available and requirements.

VOLUNTEER: The youth expo is looking for volunteers for the event dates. Please contact us for more information.
